COMPLETE DESCRIPTION OF THIS WEBINAR :
Although the determination of whether an employee is regarded as disabled may seem straightforward, it is often a difficult question to answer. For example, individuals whose condition limits them only in performing a limited class of jobs may not be disabled for ADA purposes even though they cannot perform their current job. Individuals whose conditions are debilitating but short term or easily correctible by medications or devices may also not be considered disabled under the ADA. Many times, the very definition of “disability” includes a number of terms that require further defining in order to fully understand how to ensure compliance. This webcast will provide clarification in all of these areas as well as to further define what is a disability, and what is not.
Participants of this webcast will learn:
- The EEOC definition of disability.
- What does and does not qualify as a disability
- What it means for someone to be “substantially limited” in a major life activity
- What major life activities are
- What are not disabilities
- How the legal landscape has affected the application of the ADA
